在數月的沉默之後，NBC終於宣布續訂《德州午夜》（Midnight, Texas）第2季。
改編自《真愛如血》（True Blood）作者的三部曲小說，本劇於去年夏季首播，最終拿到平均420萬/1.1的收視成績。較同期的《困獸》（Zoo）和《夜班醫生》（The Night Shift）相比，《德州午夜》在夏季檔中表現還是可圈可點的。
新一季的變數就是本劇的原劇集運作人退出；包括弗朗索瓦·阿諾德（Franois Arnaud）、迪蘭·布魯斯（Dylan Bruce）、帕裏莎·菲茲-亨利（Parisa Fitz-Henley）、阿莉爾·凱貝爾（Arielle Kebbel）和詹森·劉易斯（Jason Lewis）等在內的原班人馬都確認回歸，但尤爾瓦斯克斯（Yul Vasquez）和莎拉·拉莫斯（Sarah Ramos）或將不會回歸。
